Because Christ has graciously served and given Himself for our salvation, He calls each believer to use the gifts and resources He has provided to build up His church. Empowered by the Spirit and moved by grace, we should serve humbly and give joyfully, knowing that Christ alone is the One who builds His church.
Moses’ shining face reflected the fading glory of the old covenant, but in Christ we behold the permanent and surpassing glory of the new covenant. As we turn to Jesus in faith and continually look to Him, the veil is removed, our sins are forgiven, and the Holy Spirit transforms us into His image.
Habakkuk teaches us to pray earnestly and honestly amid violence, injustice, and confusion, trusting God’s wisdom, justice, and promises. As we bring our burdens to Him, Christ strengthens our faith and enables us to find joy in the God of our salvation, even before our circumstances change.
God graciously renews His covenant with sinful people through Jesus Christ, calling us to wholehearted loyalty and obedience. As we delight in Christ’s mercy and love, His commands become not a burden but a joyful response to the Savior who has made us His own.
True knowledge of God is not merely information about Him, but faith in Jesus Christ, through whom God has revealed His glory, grace, truth, mercy, and justice. When we truly know God as He has made Himself known, our hearts respond like Moses, with humble worship and praise.
God’s presence is our greatest treasure, but our sin leaves us helplessly separated from Him. Yet through Christ, God graciously forgives and adopts His people, promises never to forsake them, and gives them the sure hope of seeing His glory face to face.
Israel’s golden calf reminds us that forgiveness does not always remove the painful consequences of sin, yet God remains gracious to His people. In Jesus Christ, our greater Mediator, we find complete pardon and the assurance that our names will never be blotted out of the Book of Life.
God’s providence means that He sovereignly preserves and governs all creation, using even suffering, disaster, and human sin to accomplish His wise and good purposes. Therefore, Christians can look back with gratitude and face the future with hope, trusting the Father whose gracious hand rules every circumstance for their eternal good.
Science, properly understood as the careful study of God’s creation, does not disprove the Bible but depends upon the order and regularity established and sustained by Jesus Christ. Far from opposing Christianity, science can help us love our neighbors, marvel at God’s wisdom and power, and see more clearly the glory of the Savior who upholds the universe and purifies sinners from their guilt.
Jesus declares that He alone is the way to the Father, offering salvation from sin and death through His death and resurrection. Though the gospel excludes every attempt to be reconciled to God apart from Christ, it graciously welcomes everyone who turns to Him in faith.
